Wave transport along surfaces with random impedance

چکیده
We study transport and di usion of classical waves in two-dimensional disordered systems and in particular surface waves on a at surface with randomly uctuating impedance. We derive from rst principles a radiative transport equation for the angularly resolved energy density of the surface waves. This equation accounts for multiple scattering of surface waves as well as for their decay because of leakage into volume waves. We analyze the dependence of the scattering mean free path and of the decay rate on the power spectrum of uctuations. We also consider the di usion approximation of the surface radiative transport equation and calculate the angular distribution of the energy transmitted by a strip of random surface impedance.

Surface-Wave Suppression Using Periodic Structures
The objective of this paper is to design impedance surfaces for the solution of the problem of electromagnetic compatibility of antennas. In a recent paper, corresponding surfaces were used to reduce coupling between antennas located on a plane. These surfaces were made artificially, e.g., by loading a conducting surface with corrugations. The design of the impedance structure is done for a giv...

Scanning Impedance Microscopy (SIM) is one of the novel scanning probe microscopy (SPM) techniques, which has been developed to taking image from sample surface, providing quantitative information with high lateral resolution on the interface capacitance, and investigating the local capacitance–voltage (C–V) behavior of the interface and AC transport properties. The SIM is an ordinary AFM equip...

1.Introduction The wave scattering from rough surfaces is an important problem which closely relates to the measurement technology or diagnosing techniques by using microwave, millimeter wave, light wave or acoustic wave (1). Various kinds of theoretical models and methods for analyzing the wave scattering from random rough surfaces have been proposed so far. However, they have often used appro...
